Oh, look, an update.
Kids. With an S, and all... pluraly. Caitlin isn't entirely aware that the new baby isn't a toy for her amusement, but she's catching on. The cat is suffering from flashbacks of hearing Caitlin wail at random times around the clock.
I am not longer employed, (long story, but no hurt feelings.. I have a taste for working a job-job now, so I'll be sniffing about...) so wth no big daytime requirements, I have the night-duty of trying to keep Lachlan quiet and happy. This licences me to sleep in late in the morning. This week happens to be different though. This week, my plural kids and my wife have gone on a camping trip without me, to chill with my inlaws. Me and my wheelchair aren't exactly camping-friendly, which results in my getting a week-long chance to catch up on crap and get things done that have been waiting for months.
Speaking of the wheelchair, after nearly a decade in this one, I will soon have a new one. Same-ish but slightly different style. Smaller width by an inch or two, bigger wheels by a bit, things that can do this, and that, fancier spokes. Any day now...
Writing has had a bit of a boost this week, but not as much as I had hoped. I've been actually kinda busy around here. The serial bleeder is definitely going to be my next book, even if I can't decide on the final title.. but there's lots of time. Oh, and if I didn't mention if before, I'm all set to go the VCON this October again, peddling my books, and having a blast.
Next entry- Dark Cloud and Actraiser. So.. yeah. Ooh, and maybe a review I'm doing for "Tom Smith and the Electric Skyship" written by Steve Fahnestalk.

I've been neglecting this blog pretty bad, but go listen to my interview!!
It's about half an hour long, and ends up bringing in a lot of different topics. Kinda. It went really well, and came out on valentine's. I have a lot to blog about, and no time to do it! Broke my knee, got gotten by a job, blah blah blah. I'll have to tell those tales another time. Oh, did I mention yet I have a 2nd kiddo due in the summer? Eeeheeeheee!
Next entry- sooner, and more. Promise. Kinda.

Se7en, No, wait, just Seven. Sorry miss Paltrow
Seven what? Seven tiny pairs of pants. Seven tiny pairs of panties. (If they're called pairs, and there was 7 of each, maybe I should call it The Day Of Twenty-Eight... but that doesn't have as nice of a ring to it...)
Kiddo's knee deep in potty training. some days she's into it, and runs with a song and a dance to ye potty, whether she's made it in time or not! One day she did it all herself, including wiping herself from a #2!.... badly. Baby wipes also work on walls, FYI. But she tried her best. The listerine on the floor was my bad, although I have others to lay SOME blame on.
The Day Of Seven was not a day of effort on her part, nor enthusiasm. It was a day of denial. "You need to go potty?" I ask many times through the day, if only to put the notion in her head- to help her pay attention to her body a bit. "No." I heard in reply many times on The Day Of Seven. Most of the time, she was right.
A 'yes' would end up in an honest attempt by her on the potty, OCCASIONALLY with results. On The Day Of Seven, she performed admirably in the #2 department. Whether a successful #2, or a false alarm, I praised her efforts. alas, minutes later, she peed her pants. New panties, new pants, and often new socks. (The Day Of Forty Two? Oh my... 42... DON'T PANIC! We have a new washer and dryer!)
Some of these liquid mishaps happened under my care, some under the care of my mother, and the last one was saved for mommy when she got home. By that time, Caitlin and I were barely on speaking terms. We were both equally fed up with changings. I almost put her into a diaper at one point, but I held strong. 'Never fall back' in training once the commitment is made, they say, or you erode what they've learned.
SPEAKING OF ERODING WHAT'S BEEN LEARNED....
Welcome to Windows 7.
My old laptop, which was far from new when it came into my care, had been showing many signs of giving up the ghost. A smallish hard drive that occasionally liked to slide out the side, a CD drive that no longer read CDs (but read DVDs just fine) and a power cord that, by the end, required a finger held in just the right place, at just the right pressure to work. The most recent injury to the cord was right by the plug that goes into the laptop, making a repair difficult at best.
It was time to retire the old girl. We knew it was coming.
So now, I have a new machine. It's not top-end, but it's pretty dandy for what I need, and beats the crap out of the old one. It's been named "Minmay"
Why name a computer after robotech's vacuous, fickle, not-so-loyal, possibly incestuous idol singer? I honestly don't know. It's certainly not the lessons I want my computer to learn. One of the selling points of this machine was ATA drives, which are going out of style, but make installing windows XP much easier... in case I hated wondows 7... I was going to go in with an open mind. Guess what happened?
Yup. It's OK. My new machine has 3gigs of ram, which might help also., but it feels OK. It has a lot of behaviours that I don't like, but after some tweaking, I think I'm just going to have to adapt a bit. Heck, running windows XP, I always tweaked it until it looked and felt like windows 98, so I guess I just have to take a step forward. It's ****ing microsoft. Conform or die, kill me now.Shush, linux. Linux and I have come to terms with things. My MS alternatives will have to remain in the browser, email and office arenas. (On that topic, check out FireFox, Thunderbird [if you hate outlook] and Openoffice all of em free and awesome.)
Aside from my old laptop, I also still had my old desktop, Moria, (which was SUPPOSED to be named after the ship on Farscape, which I later learnt was actually 'Moya'.)
My Moria is about 7 years old, and of all the machines that have been in this house, only one has exceeded her speed, by 0.1 Ghz. She's a 3 ghz, with every bell and whistle that was available at the time. She cost a lot. It was my one needless indulgence when the settlement from my injury came around. She also had the bulk to my files... baby photos, music, graphical resources... FIFTEEN DVDs later, I have everything I wanted backed up. To put that in other terms, since a single layer writable DVD holds roughly 5 CDs worth of data, that would be about 75 CDs of data. I didn't load ALL of that onto the new laptop... Much of it I only need now and then, so it remains archived. But this frees up Moria to go live with my mother, who was running a pretty sad machine. She now has the fastest under this roof*, even above my new laptop. Moria just didn't fit in my lap very well.*my playstation 3 runs more cyles by far than anything else in the house, if I wanna be picky.
And since I bring up Moya, in a related story, Claudia Black is awesome.
Despite that she hasn't returned my calls about playing Regan Grier in the Lifehack movie. Speaking of which, it's time for me to leave another message on Joss Wheadon's answering machine.

Caitlin's different in the dark.
I went to sleep Tuesday night, and everything seemed fine. Around 02:30, or 02:15 or so, I awoke, realizing... something was wrong. I lifted my head, and looked behind me to the other side of the bed. My wife was missing. In her place was some creature, roughly 25 lbs, and it was waking up.
In the relative darkness, mistaking it for my beloved daughter, I reached out to it to try to ease it back to sleep.
Nein.
Nein, nein, nein.
This was not my daughter. It was quickly revealed to me that this was some kind of monster. Again, it was hard to see in the darkness, but I'm pretty sure this monster was a collection of three butts, and roughly a dozen little feet.
No matter how I tried to position it, or myself, it tossed, turned and squirmed so that there was always a diapered butt or a foot jammed in my face.
Giving up on it sleeping after an hour or so, I reached for the clicker, and turned the TV on to 'treehouse' The radiance of the TV washed over the room, and the monster was gone.
"Caitlin!" I declared, "How did you get here? Where's the monster? How did you fight it off?"
Caitlin righted herself from what looked to be a perpendicular sleeping position, looked at me, and started watching TV. After a while, she would tire, and go back to sleep. Waiting for that to happen, I turned towards her, away form the TV, and attempted to get some sleep.
NEIN!
"DA-EE, WAYUP! WAY-UP, DA-EE!" Wake up? Was the monster near? I could have sworn I felt one of it's feet jab me. With the TV still protecting us with its silent glow, I held Caitlin close, out of direct view of the TV. It seemed to be working. I reached to the clicker covertly, and turned down the brightness.
The next hour or so was a blur. There was light, there was darkness, the monster turned the fan off on me, causing me to melt. Must kung fu and perpendicular sleeping positions were attempted.
Eventually, I relented to the TV again, and while she watched it, I thought I may as well haul this laptop over and get something done, since my daring to sleep always resulted in the monster attacking, or Caitlin remanding me to wake up. Or to hammer my ribs with her elbow.
Shortly after I opened up my file to work on, Caitlin mistook the laptop for the monster, and attacked. After disarming that tussle, Cailtin's mommy arrived, and managed to get Caitlin to 'sleep' without the monster coming back. It took a while. and we spend much of the remaining time sleeping as a human H.
It's almost midnight now. Let's hope the monster doesn't come back tonight.
Yute news:
I'm at about 20% through THE FINAL PASS through the manuscript. Everything's moving along as planned.

OW, MY SACK!
The entire book Lifehack is now told in a set of 10 littleBIGplanet levels, in a very truncated, LBP kinda way. Two contests were run on separate Life-hack themed levels, where the top winners won a copy of the book and other LH goodies. The badguy from Lifehack also 'enjoys' some side-story silliness. Fan damand has caused another Regan side-story, and a remake of the first level, with my more developed skills, and the all-hallowed PAINTINATOR, which would have been spiffy to have when I STARTED the set, not as soon as I finished #10...
Anyone out there playing LBP, do a serach for ozero or lifehack, and you'll find em pretty easy.
In other Lifehack news, I'm moving the production of the softcover (tradepaperback 6x9") version to a new producer, which will drop the retal price by about five bucks. Whee!
-----------------
Caitlin's charging ever forward, leanring new (often mangled) words almost every other day. We have to start training her on how to wlak in public, without runnign around like a maniac. Even with the 'leash', it's a trick and a half for me to control her, thus, she still spends most of her outins with me secure in the carrier I have.. but she loves it.
When the snow hit right before xmas, I was practically stranded in the house for a month and a half... well, not quite THAT bad, but for me to get to anywhere useful, I had to wheel over a section of sidewalk that never receies even a patronizing attempt of a shovelling.. so the other option was to go on the road, which I did twice or so.. and none with Caitlin on board.
The other week when I pulled out the carrier, she miled form ear to ear. We got suited up for the cold. Then I went to the hallway mirror for a last minute 'system check'. Caitlin saw us ready to rock, and wiggled and giggled. Oh yes, there will be a tune on sourdough to mangle. Muaha.. plat and then the sandwish shop, that was the routine.
F#@$kin' snow.

Lifehack is officially launched! and VCON confirmed!
Those of you who know me personally and live nearby can order from me now, before I put in my big batch purchase. Hardcovers through me will cost only $30, as oppose to the 40 I'm kinda forced to sell it for online, AND, I'll be eating those shipping charges for ya.
Those of you who live elsewhere would have to resort to buying it from the publisher. Shipping to Canada costs way too much, IMO, but to the US is very reasonable.
Softcover $19.95: http://www.lulu.com/content/2853707
Hardcover $39.95: http://www.lulu.com/content/3163628
As usual, you can also go to my site, www.ozero.ca to read about it, and check out the related posters. All the links have previews of the book attached to them.
---------
It IS confirmed that I am going to be at VCON (Vancouver Sci-fi Convention) and be selling there, (Hey, no shipping for people that buy direct form me!) October 3-5, in Surrey. (bonehead errors fixed thanks to jenni from the blo- er, the con.)
----------
Caitlin news: 15 steps for a freewalking record now. She gets 12s off pretty regularly now and is beginning to see walking as a viable mode of travel, not jsut a stunt that makes grownups happy.
She and I also had a big adventure on monday, downtown to be filmed playing for part of a DVD for other parents who aren't confident with their kids, or just play inappropriately. (Too much roughhousing, or too nervous to interact, etc) Thanks partly to my wife's influence I suppose, I was told I was a natural, and a very good play-buddy for a 1 year old. Also, my being in a wheelchair should show some parents that they cant whine about being tired at the end of a day, or having a bad back! hehehe.
We then popped over to GF strong, where I spent 6 months after my accident, and introduced Caitlin to some of the staffers who still work there. We also got to show off our custom baby-carrier. Then we had lunch at the GF strong cafeteria.. mainly for nostalgic reasons. The food was better in 2001. Darn cutbacks.
Form getting on the bus at 7:30 am, and getting home at 4:30pm, we had a LONG day. She fell asleep in my lap for a bit on the way home, the the skytrain woke her up. She wasn't fond of the skytain's sounds on the way in either. Still, despite that, and coming home tired as heck, I think it's safe to say we both had a pretty good day.

International Students
Braveheart and FraidyCat have gone home, and all is well there. We have a little bit of quiet for a while. But Lo and behold, yesterday, PING magically appeared! She can drive a person nuts sometimes, but in small doses, she's lots of fun. She brought a china-made barbie ripoff for Caitlin, (with the words SUPERIOR GIRL on the side of the box) and olympic cell-phone dangly charms for me and Michelle. I filled her in on how things were going here, and she told me bits of what's going on in Beijing, and her impressions of the 'creepy' police presence that normally isn't there. She also checked on the stuff she's storing here until she finds an apartment downtown. Right now she's staying with family friends.
On the 27th, our 'usual' Korean student 'Radar' comes back, (doing her grade 12 and graduating here) then on my Bday, the 30th, the new german girl (no nickname so far) will arrive. We've been in correspondence, and she seems quite nice. She only stays for 5 months and then we're to get a new german.

The president has no dog.
In Optimist club news, last night we held the yearly elections. When the term changes over in October, I'll be the new pres. I kinda knew it was gonna happen. I held the door wiiiide open for someone else to step up, but I think most people were already assuming I was going to be president. I'm VP right now, and our current president calls me the 'co-president', since I take the helm when he's traveling for work, etc. And the fact is, I do a lot. I was also open to the secretary/treasurer position for various reasons, but the chips fell where they did. Here's hoping I don't **** it up TOO bad.
We're on the trail for this "walk for youth" we want to have on June 7. I sought out joiners at the elementary and the highschool. The elementary said that they already had a lot going on, but once I found the right fella at the highschool, it sounds like we might get a lot of participation from them. The pathfinders are pretty much guaranteed in, and the freshly elected VP for next year has plans for some local teams.
I also plan to look into a youth theater group, and the youth centre in Maple Ridge, when I can get out that way. If I'm lucky, tomorrow.
IF ONLY I HAD A CONTACT OR TWO WITH THE SAINT JOHN AMBULANCE CADETS (COUGHCOUGH)
In other news, I now have the fully-marked-up editing copy of Lifehack. Bit by bit, I'll be reviewing the proposed changes, and entering them into the manuscript. I also have to touch up the cover, add page numbering, and have a new photo taken for the back.
Yute progress is slow but steady. Me and the characters are still recovering from THE BAD SCENE, and when thier mood picks up a little, so will the pace of the writing, I think Either way, Yute or Lifehack is going to take the forefront at the temporary expense of the other.
Oh! I forgot! Caitlin's 7th tooth is almost done popping up, and the lil scamp can climb the entire starcase with very little effort! May 27th is her first birthday, and party plans are underway.

So long, Lucy
Our dog, Lucy, has gone to a better place. Somewhere in Burnaby. (Did I fool ya?) We stuck her up on Craigslist for free to a good home, because after 3 and a half years here, "Pain in the butt" had been turning into "Look, this just ain't workin out."
One of our neighbors has a couple dogs trained as attack dogs. They've already attacked our tenant's puppy who snuck under the fence, and later the 2 attack dogs snuck under another fench to chump on another neighbor's dog. When you have kids, why are you training your gods with padded "maul me" sleeves?
The other reason we wanted Lucy outta here is Caitlin. They get along GREAT. Except at meal time. Caitlin likes to share, and Lucy doesn't know when enough is enough. And yes, we did try a lot of things to make peace, but the beagle in her found a way to destroy all possible solutions in one way or the other.
I tried to put her on Craigslist once, and couldn't make myself submit the posting, but a week later, I managed it. I felt better once I got it through my head she's be going to another home, not a wood chipper. The home she went to has a 7 year old boy and a beagle/terrier, so that family is used to breeds with attitude. They go for daily walks in a dog park, and overall, it sounds like a great place for Lucy.
Say Aah!
At 10 and a half months, Caitlin's 7th and 8th teeth are finally peeking out, surrounding her 2 lower middle teeth. Crawling is a mastered art now. Standing without support has happened many times, but not for long. I think a solid 7 second count is the current record. And she has dance fever. Tunes from a few select noisy toys can get her rockin' out like there's no tomorrow. For food, she generally has whatever we're having, cut into manageable chunks in many cases, but a bottle now and then can supplement dinner if it's something she want very fond of.. though she seems to like most things..! Check Caitlin's site here.
Optimism in the streets
The MeadowRidge Optimist Club will soon have it's won website which I'm putting together with design/content guidance from the rest of the club. When it's up, the address will be posted here, on some business cards for members to hand out to whoever, and some signs for generic uses.
These signs will be making their first appearance at the first annual MeadowRidge Optimsit Walk for youth, which will be a part of the Pitt Meadows Day parade
Lifehack and Watching Yute
2nd edition of Lifehack is in the hands of my last of many volunteer editors. And maybe my dad might take a crack too.
Yute is still being chipped away at. Not much of a page count increase over 130, but a lot of segments are getting streamlined, and re-sorted from the sort of 'sketchbook' phase that many scenes get written in originally.
Game On
I'm pretty much done my Oblivion addiction, looking forward to LittleBigPlanet, Home, and Bionic Commando: ReArmed. (2d gameplay! SLICK 3d graphics!)
Now playing: Crash Bandicoot:Warped (had an urge for some platforming) and FF7. Why FF7 all of a sudden? Blame Advent Children. Sure, the flick isn't new, but it triggered new toys! Right now I'm surrounded by AC and original costume versions of Cloud and Tifa, original Aeris, and AC Vincent and Sephy, which I've been buying one by one since AC originally came out. I'm not trying to get them all, but 'Reno' is on my 'get me' list. Anyway, I guess having all these guys standing around got me in the mood to play the game.

Norwalk Strikes! And writing updates
Norwalk tends to have a rep as being really horrible, but the reality is, it’s just a nasty flu. Nasty enough that Caitlin and Michelle (who is now suffering a slightly lesser bout with the virus) played musical beds last night, fleeing a series of infant bile eruptions. Laundry was a constant process with just normal baby issues.
Now it is a war.
Lifehack status: In the hands of the 2nd editor, out of 7-ish.
Watching Yute’s progress has been stalled by a combination of Caitlin, and Oblivion. (Playstation 3 game) But actually, Michelle’s been using the laptop a lot more lately, and my time on my main machine has been occupied a lot by graphic contracts, so it’s just not a good writing timespan. I work in spurts.. and I’m not in one right now.

New webpage, and more.
Baby news? Not a lot- Just did a little seminar on doing her baptismal.
Playstation 3 news, playing Warhawk. (PSN ID: Ozero)
Writing news... Well, between the two above items, it's going slow right now. I tend to work in spurts for big projects, so I'll be getting a new wind on writing soon I think.. I can feel it coming..
School's started up. Radar came back a day early. Ping will be back a week late, since the first week is useless in her opinion.. sheesh.. in some ways she takes school very seriously.. in some ways.. not so much...
Other news? New tenants downstairs. And a new dog. A non-barker. They don't wanna trade dogs either. Pfft.
Oh, and I got older in the last week. Meh.

Cat's eye view, and Lifehack update
Tada. Now watch the blog software chew up the formatting... which reminds me- You who comment anonymously... you know who you are... Alright, I can guess who it is by the content, but just cuz ya don't have a blogpot ID, doesn't mean ya cant sign the message... I might not always be so cunning...!Just then, Alisia arrived. "Regan?" She sighed, "What are you doing here?"
Regan paused, thinking fast. "I.. just came to give these back." Regan pulled out the dog tags that she had taken days ago. "I'm sorry."
Alisia, still mostly in the hall, took the tags. She happened to look past Regan for a moment and saw her teddy bear out of place. She looked at the tags again. She didn't really mind if Regan had them, but she didn't want Regan to know that. She glanced at the garbage can nearby in the hall.
"I don't need these anymore. These say I'm a Captain. I've been promoted to Major, remember?" Alisia reached the tags over to the garbage, 'accidentally' missing, leaving them on the rim. She moved past Regan into her room and sat down. "I'll be getting new ones soon. Was there anything else?"
Regan stood, stunned. She didn't think she was convincing, but you can't argue with results. She still felt that something odd had happened. "mm, no. That was all. Just, uh.. thank you. For today."
Alisia smiled ever so slightly. "What are friends for?"
Wordlessly, Regan backed out and closed the door. She then spotted the dog tags. She considered not taking them... it's not as if she was digging through the garbage or anything. She picked them up and hugged them in her hand.
Alisia looked at her bear as if to ask what Regan did in her room, but the bear told no secrets.
Anyway, as for the Cat's eye view....
This past weekend my wife Michelle packed up lil Ciatlin, and they went camping at Perrygin lake where much of her family camps. Next year I'm told I'm going long too, despite my disability. Grr.. oh well, I guess I have to give it a hack eventually, but this time around I ended up having the house to myself for five days.
Unless you count my mother downstairs, the renters in the suite, oh, and of course Ping and uhh... Hmm... I need a codename for our korean student! Korea.. um.. what do I think of when I think "Korea"... Radar! Alright, alright, Radar O'Riley was an american male in Korea, but she has a similarly helpful attitude, and gentle cheer. Radar it is.
Anyway, yes, aside from them, I was solo.
On the second day or so, my cat Leela wanders by. She had always been my cat more than our cat, ever since the first day we brought her home, and I defended her from the giant, hairy, overexcited, older canine sister she had just gained. Leela was my lil baby. I'm not sure when I became a cat person, but I did.
"Hey, Joe." she said with her eyes as she casually walked into the room.
"Yeah, Leela?"
She sits a few feet in front of me. "We gotta talk."
"Sure." I put my hand out 'cat-height' above my lap, inviting her to jump up. She's a big girl now, just turned three. Not too old to get on daddy's lap. (In actuality, she's still pretty small.) "What's on your mind, lil one?"
She runs her head under my hand to get petted, and wanders back and forth on my lap to garner more attention. "Well, daddy... I'm used to being the baby.."
"Yes, well..."
"And I kinda suspect I'm adopted... but... this new thing. The hairless little one...."
"Caitlin."
"Yeah, whatever. Is she gonna be here long?"
"Oh, leelers. Don't tell me you're jealous?"
"..... no! Not me! I don't get jealous! So when's that hairless thing leaving?"
"She isn't. She lives here now. She's my daughter."
"....!"
I sigh, and calm Leela with a scratch behind the ear. "You're still my lil girl too."
"Is that hairless thing on my side or the dog's side?"
"Right now she's pretty much just on her own side. I guess it'll depend on which of you behaves better."
"PAH! Then I win."
"Alright then. Happy now?"
Leela looks around sulkily, then back up at me. "You still love your leelerz?"
"Of course."
"Kay. Now let me outside, stupid human!"

Writing slowdown factors
1- My baby Caitlin. I really can't begrudge this at all... damned lovable lil thing. Having my
concentration shattered by a fuss-up, and/or having to shut down work for her can be frustrating for a moment, but such feelings are quickly dissolved a moment after I get close to her. Right now her and mommy are camping with her side of the family across the border, so that factor isn't slowing me down right now.
A bit before this trip, my wife Michelle went across the border to go shopping. On the way back, they gave her hassle over the baby. "blah blah percent of kidnappings are by a parent." Geez, fine... but who kidnaps a kid, goes into another country, and then comes back? Alright, I guess our family unit could have been traveling to the states, and Michelle kidnapped Caitlin to go back into Canada.. but whatever..
They kinda treated her like an idiot for not knowing they would have liked a NOTARIZED letter from me saying they had permission. This trip she also brought our nephew. His mum got a notarized letter.. We only did a non-notarized letter, and a "call me if you really need to." I haven't heard form anyone, so I'm assuming things went well... at least on the way down...
2- PS3. (yay!)
A little over a week ago, a couple friends came over for pizza before a movie..
Ryan:"Michelle, you have to get Joe a 60 gig PS3 soon."
Um, I'm gonna sit back and see where this goes....
Michelle: "oh yeah? Why's that?"
Ryan: "The 20 gig's already been discontinued, and the 60's just had a $100 price drop. There's a 80 gig coming that will probably be more expensive, but it's arguably an inferior machine, since it won't have the Emotion Engine chip, which is the way the 20 and 60 play ps2 games- with real ps2 chipsets. The 80 is going to emulate that in software, so the compatibility for ps2 will likely be somewhat less. It's expected the 60 will be discontinues too, once they clear them out."
Michelle digests Ryan's babble for a moment, sitting back in her chair... "Well... I am going to the states tomorrow, and the exchange rate is darn near par right now..."
Blink blink. Did I hear that right? Ryan turns to me and puts his hand up for a high five. "Who's your best friend, man?"
So yeah, the time regained by the family being away has been damaged by my new toy a bit...
Mind you, I tend to be productive in bursts. Call me the machine gun. Controlled bursts.

Facebook, Lifehack, Baby
I discovered yesterday that the first quarter of AZU-1:Lifehack doesn't have a chapter 8.
0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9, etc. Aside from my own stupidity, it just reinforces that with volunteer proofreaders, you get what you pay for. Heehee.
In other news, I've been suckered into joining Facebook. Wanna add me? Well, look to the right, there's my name. Hook it up
Oh! I came to a new conclusion about the proofreading of the new Lifehack revision. I don't know if posting a flyer in SFU is my style... therefore, I'm considering a contest...
When the time comes, I think I'll be give out the E-book for free, before the hardcopy. Partly for promo. Then the contest will be that whoever writes to me with the most typos found (that I USE.. some are intentional) will get a free copy of the hardcopy. Maybe the top 3 or something.
Sound like a good idea?

Wasn't worth the parking space
Primarily it's about my life as a paraplegic, which started in 2001 when I was injured. Whoops, was that a spoiler?
Anyway, when I started AZU-1:Lifehack, I'd start a conversation about it like "yeah, I've got a book coming out soon," And I could almost hear them think, "Oh, this guy in the wheelchair's gonna write about being in a wheelchair, blah blah blah."
Ever so glad to be able to tell them it was a sci-fi about lesbians fighting zombies. Alright, I never pitched Lifehack like that, but still. It's fun to drop a bomb on people's expectations.
So finally I've relented. But it's going to be a humorous take on it all, as much as I can.

But that can only be applied to a certain extent. It's not going to be all humor by any means. It's going to recount events through the lens of a smart@$$. Two entirely factual conflicts I've written about for it include me versus the 'demon ramp', and me versus the three evil elevators of GF Strong. Stuff like that comes out amusing if done right, I think.
Behold, the demon ramp:
If the book starts just before my injury, Where does the book end? Well, I'm not going to wait for stemcells to come cure me for an ending, so it will probably have something to do with my new baby girl...
For a telling of the plight of my life in a wheelchair that's slightly less factual, go ahead and watch the flash I made on the topic a few years back:
And now I've covered all my book projects..! What next.. Hmmm....
